We focus on branded moments within product and offer strong visual, motion and 3D design across product features. We have a unique set of skills that aren’t found within traditional product teams at Squarespace.

TEMPLATES

Unfold is a toolkit for storytellers. Our users use it to create beautiful and engaging stories from minimal and elegant templates.

One of my roles in the Design Studio team is to design
and integrate static and animated templates by analyzing social trends and ensuring we can answer our users' needs, ranging from creators, entrepreneurs, pros, and amateurs looking for ways to present themselves online with polished and refined content using the best accessible tools on the creative market.

12 MOMENTS

For this Template Collection, I wanted to create a poster for each month of the year for our users to be able to capture their best moments in one single frame. I tried to make things as editable as possible (mostly for the text editing part) in order to let people to customize the messaging and also swap months if they liked a design better than another.

One of the hardest things with our template creation is to always make sure we leave some room for users to appropriate the design we gave them, from color swaps, font styling, and additional effects.

Little notes on this template:
I watermarked all of the templates with a various watermark that feels integrated into the design so people would be willing to note remove it and hep us promote our app.

All assets are created from scratch, the phones in 3D, chains, the ripped paper effect which was built with a procedural system using cinema4D, the stickers, and graphic overlays.

02 EVENTS

For this Template Collection, our goal was to create a collection using the ripped paper style (which was trending at this time of the year) to promote events and businesses.

Little notes on this template:
Each ripped paper effect on the images were created with a procedural system using cinema4D, this was very challenging to get this effect as realistic as possible as it’s a pattern very hard to simulate and also to notice while having some areas with transparency.
