WEB CONCEPTS
Web Concepts was a creatively driven, cross-disciplinary team dedicated to expanding the boundaries of the Squarespace platform. Our mission was to explore, prototype, and imagine what Squarespace could become, both by elevating existing products and by conceptualizing entirely new ones.
We spent our time researching, investigating, and experimenting with emerging technologies, design languages, and digital behaviors to understand how they could empower creators and strengthen Squarespace’s ecosystem. Our work focused on identifying gaps across CMS, Commerce, Growth, and Marketing Tools and proposing new solutions, progressive enhancements, and product directions to move the platform forward.
Beyond product exploration, Web Concepts also created experiential websites, brand, product, or completely abstract, to showcase creative possibilities and inspire future features. Many of these explorations had the potential to evolve into new sections, functionalities, and interactive experiences directly within the platform.

BRAND IN MOTION
When DIA Studio introduced the new Squarespace branding, it became a foundation for us to build on. The motion guidelines were still undefined across many surfaces, so I developed the following explorations to help shape our direction.

FLUID ENGINE RESEARCH
When the Squarespace Fluid Engine grid was created, we saw an opportunity to explore how the grid should look and feel when interacting with it. For this project, I built a procedural grid in Cinema 4D to help us quickly iterate on different concepts and visualize what was possible and what wasn’t. Below are some of my explorations.

GALLERY DESIGN SYSTEM
Before the release of Squarespace 7.1, we were looking to consolidate simple gallery options that would give users more flexibility while still fitting our visual style. I developed several design proposals to explore this problem, creating a simplified layout system that mapped button placements and made new gallery variations easier to build.

MOBILE FRIENDLY SECTIONS
In a world where interfaces are increasingly crowded and everyone is competing for user attention, I aim to balance interactivity with simplicity. My goal is to invite users to engage with the product while keeping the experience enjoyable.
